Speaker: Jonathan Riddle
Scripture: Exodus 20:1–4 & Mark 12:28–34
Jonathan Riddle brought us back to what Jesus called the greatest commandment — the main thing.
In Exodus, we hear the very first commandment given to Israel: “You shall have no other gods before Me.” In Mark, Jesus echoes that same truth when asked which commandment matters most — love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Jonathan reminded us how easily faith can become crowded. Even good things — ministry, opinions, responsibilities, activity — can slowly shift from flowing out of love for God to replacing it.
But Scripture continually calls us back to simplicity.
Not divided devotion.
Not performative religion.
Not fitting God into the margins.
A life ordered around loving Him first — and letting everything else find its proper place from that center.
When we return to the “main thing,” what once felt complicated often begins to settle.
