Speaker: David Allgire
Scripture: Mark 9:17–29
“This kind can come out only by prayer.”

On Sunday we stepped into one of the most honest and human moments in the Gospel of Mark. A desperate father brought his suffering son to Jesus after the disciples had tried—and failed—to help. Caught between hope and doubt, the father cried out the words many of us have prayed ourselves:

“I believe; help my unbelief!”

David reminded us that this passage is not just about a miracle, but about the source of true spiritual authority. Jesus showed that power doesn’t come from effort, experience, or striving—it flows from a life deeply rooted in prayer and dependence on God.

When faith feels small… when prayers feel weak… when outcomes don’t change as quickly as we hope… Jesus invites us back to the only place where mountains move: trusting Him and staying connected to the Father.

The call was simple and personal: Return to prayer. Anchor yourself in belief. Let God do what only He can do.
