Jonathan Riddle leads us into a powerful post-resurrection passage in John’s Gospel — one that speaks directly to the tension between faith and doubt.
The disciples had seen and heard the testimony that Jesus was alive, yet not everyone knew what to do with it. In the middle of uncertainty, questions, and hesitation, Jesus came near.
We were reminded that doubt is not foreign to the life of faith. Scripture is honest about the struggle to believe, and honest about the grace of a Savior who meets us there.
Thomas is often remembered for his doubt, but this passage shows us something deeper: Jesus did not turn away from him in his uncertainty. He came to him with peace.
Not shame.
Not distance.
Peace.
Jonathan helped us see that Jesus is not threatened by our questions. He meets us in them, speaks into them, and invites us toward a deeper and steadier faith.
What happens when faith feels difficult?
What does Jesus do when His followers wrestle to trust what they cannot yet fully grasp?
John 20 reminds us that even in our uncertainty, the risen Christ is still present, still patient, and still calling us to believe.
