Sermon Title: The Main Thing
Scripture: Exodus 20:1–4 & Mark 12:28–34
It’s easy for faith to become crowded with activity, opinions, and distractions—even good ones. But throughout Scripture, God continually calls His people back to simplicity and clarity.
In Exodus, we hear the first commandment given to Israel: to put God first above everything else. In Mark, Jesus echoes that same truth when asked which commandment matters most—love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
This Sunday we’ll look at what it really means to live with that kind of wholehearted devotion. Not divided. Not performative. Not squeezed in around everything else. But a life ordered around loving God first—and allowing everything else to flow from that center.
When we return to the “main thing,” we often find that many of the things that felt complicated begin to settle into their proper place.
