Speaker: Rev. Richard Kannwischer
Scripture: Luke 2:1–20
Message Title: Good News of Great Joy
This Sunday marked the beginning of our Advent journey as we returned to the night that changed the world. Through Luke’s account of Jesus’ birth, Rev. Richard Kannwischer invited us to rediscover the wonder of the gospel—the good news that still breaks through the noise and fear of our times.
We were reminded that Jesus was wrapped not in baby clothes, but in swaddling cloths—the same kind used to cradle flawless temple lambs destined for sacrifice. Even in the manger, His purpose was clear.
Rev. Kannwischer also shared a story about a couple with a blue suitcase—who stayed at an extravagant resort, unaware that the gourmet meals were included in their stay. They missed the feast because they didn’t realize what was already theirs. The connection to the gospel was unmistakable: joy, peace, and salvation have been paid in full. The invitation is to receive.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
If you missed this powerful message, we encourage you to take time this week to reflect, and to listen:
