Sermon Title: The Return of the King
Scripture: Mark 11:1–11
This Sunday, we will enter the Palm Sunday account in Mark’s Gospel — the moment Jesus comes into Jerusalem and the crowd begins to respond. It is a scene filled with celebration, expectation, and meaning. But Palm Sunday does more than mark a moment of praise. It invites us to consider what kind of King Jesus truly is — and whether we are ready to receive Him as He is, not as we might prefer Him to be.
Many in the crowd saw Jesus, yet missed His true identity. They were looking for a different kind of savior — one of power, status, and control — while Jesus came in humility, sacrifice, and love. This passage also reminds us that the Kingdom of God invites participation. Some are called to go. Others are called to give. All are called to respond. As we begin Holy Week together, Mark 11 helps prepare our hearts not only to honor the King, but to follow in His way.
We will also share in Communion together during the service.
